REVIEW: Rimmel London - Professional Finish #312 ULTRA VIOLET

Yet, another nail varnish review. I seem to have have an obsession with buying new nail varnish colours, I go into Superdrug or Boots and immediately think I need to buy a new shade. I will have to keep telling myself that I already have 100+ in possibly every shade imaginable, but of course I don't see it this way at all.

I've had this shade for a while but it's one that I haven't worn for absolutely ages! I completely forgot just how much I love the shade and I think it's perfect for the upcoming Spring/Summer months. I worn this colour when I went on holiday and I had a tan and I must say I loved it. The 'maxi' brush is perfect for an excellent application and I wish more brands would start releasing nail varnishes with the larger brush as I find it so much easier to apply and I make less mistakes around my finger, normally I have to get a cotton bud on each finger to remove the excess from around the nail.

I actually think that Rimmel have re-named this shade as the new 'Salon Pro' collection has the exact match to this colour and is actually been called 'Ultra Violet'. I'm sure they've called this shade something with 'boys' in the name - I could be completely wrong so don't hold me to that.

You will definitely not be disappointed if you decide to purchase this nail varnish, I promise!
Have any of you tried the maxi brush on any of the other shades? Do you like this colour?

RIMMEL VINYL GLOSS | QUICK REVIEW

If you had read one of the previous posts you would have seen the lip gloss I bought; the Rimmel London Vinyl Gloss in the shade 'Pin Up'.

Since that post, I have used this lip gloss quite a lot and I must say I absolutely love it. It gives me a nice colour to my lips without the need of any lipstick underneath and the colour stays on for quite a while. I did need to reapply it about 2/3 times but I honestly don't mind doing that if it's going to give me a finish that I like.

What do you all think of this lip gloss colour? Have you tried any of them?

Nail Varnish TAG

Tumblr_mbi1kbae7g1qf9rf3o1_500_large
credit to 'we heart it' for the picture.

I've seen this TAG floating about on many different blogs and I think this is a perfect TAG for me to do as I have a large collection of different nail varnishes. I've merged some of the questions together from 2 separate tags that I found so there will be more questions in this.

Questions
1. How many nail polishes do you have?
Well I'm always being told every time I go to buy a new nail varnish that I don't need any more - this isn't only from my family members but also my friends! I did sit this afternoon and count how many I have and the grand total is roughly..128, eeekkkk & there is probably more hiding away somewhere, it's not good. Now you may all be able to understand why people tell me that I do NOT need any more.

2. What is your favourite brand of nail polish?
I have many favourites when it comes to nail varnish but at the same time I'm not really fussy. I will easily pick up a 'Miss Sporty' nail varnish and give it a try to see if I can find some cheaper alternatives. If I had to choose a brand I do love the Revlon colours and how they stay on my nails & also I'm a HUGE fan of Models Own & Barry M.

3. Do you like or hate crackle polish?
I would have to say I'm in between when it comes to the crackled effect, I've tried it a couple of times and it's looked okay. I'd probably be swaying more to the hate side as I don't use it very often, you would be lucky to find me wearing it twice a year BUT I do like the effect it creates and it looks really nice on some people.

4. What was the brand of your very first nail polish?
Wow, this is a question that really made me think...I honestly don't have any idea and I don't actually remember the first time I bought my first ever nail polish. It possibly could have been one of the cheaper brands or MAYBE a Rimmel one. I'm really not sure.

5. If you had a nail polish line, what would it be called?
This is a tricky question, I'm not really good when it comes to thinking up names of things but I'd probably call it something really girly like 'Sparkle' or 'Diamond' - terrible I know.

6. What nail polish colour do not look good on you?
I'm not a fan of the blue colours on my nails, especially the dark blues. I have yet to experiment more on different shades of blue but at this moment in time blue is definitely a colour I avoid when doing my nails.

7. What nail polish shades do look good on you?
I like some pastel colours on my nails or black. I think those are the colours that work for me the most.

8. Name 2 of your nail art best friends.
I don't really use much regarding nail art the most I do is use a clip to put dots on my nails (that's if I can be bothered to spend around 20 minutes doing it!)

9. What is the best nail polish gift you have ever received?
This is really weird as I don't think I've received many nail varnishes as a gift. I normally buy the brands and colours that I want.

10. Glitter or no glitter?
Lately, I've been in to painting my ring finger with glitter. I went through a stage of this last year and then stopped for a few months but it looks like I'm back doing it again! I do like adding glitter as I think it makes your nails stand out and look that extra little bit different.

11. OPI, China Glaze or Essie?
This will be surprising but I've never tried any of these brands, I think they are slightly on the expensive side for me especially as I buy so many! I have been wanting to try Essie for a long time though as some of the colours they have are absolutely gorgeous!

12. When do you change your nail polish?
ALL THE TIME.  I must change my nail colour at least 3 times a week, it's like a weird obsession that I have. I get bored of colours so easily and I do actually enjoying painting my nails, it's the drying process that annoys me.

13.  What are you wearing on your nails this very moment?
Rimmel's 'Black Cab' and then I've added Models Own 'Juicy Jules' to my ring finger on top of the black colour, I'm liking it so far.

14. French manicure?
I only ever get this design when I have acrylic nails done as I don't really like the design on my actual nails.

15. Favourite colour for upcoming season?
I'm loving all the pastel colours, especially the mint greens.

I tag EVERYONE to do this - I actually quite enjoyed writing this one. What's all of your favourite nail varnish brand & colours?

Small Haul: Boots

I think it's safe to say I've been addicted to the 'Kate Moss' lipstick collection recently, I just can't stop myself from buying more shades as I love them too much!
Rimmel still had the 3 for 2 offer which I took full advantage of and purchased 2 of the 'Kate Moss' lipsticks and a 'Vinyl Gloss'.

Order of products in the picture:
  • Kate Moss lipstick - shade 101
  • Kate Moss lipstick - shade 107
  • Vinyl Gloss - shade 'Pin Up'
I absolutely love the smell of the lipsticks aswell, is that weird?! They smell just like watermelons, yum! I saw the shade 107 lipstick on this blog: http://birdle.blogspot.co.uk/2013/02/kate-moss-infamous-107-lipstick.html & I thought Beth's make up looked amazing with it which made me want to purchase the shade even more. The 101 shade has been raved about for some time now and I did only purchase it to see what all the fuss was about and to be honest I'm glad I did.

Have any of you tried these shades?

Rimmel Apocalips Lip Lacquer

In my opinion, these products are one of the most hyped lip products at the moment. Whenever there's a hype around a product I ALWAYS read reviews about it to see what the overall view/opinion is. Every review I've read about these were positive and I knew I had to own at least 1 of them. I'd read that Rimmel had a 3 for 2 offer going on at the moment so felt that it would be rude not to go and buy some.
I originally wanted the shade 'Celestial' but it was out of stock, so I had to find another shade that I liked.

Shades I Purchased:
  • NUDE ECLIPSE
  • BIG BANG
  • NOVA
(Top to bottom: Nova, Big Bang, Nude Eclipse)

I must say I really really really love these lip products, I'm tempted to go buy the rest! (my bank balance is hating me right now, must stop shopping). I'm still a bit undecided whether the nude makes me look like I'm dead, especially in the picture. It is slightly darker in real life but I still think I'd wear it. These retail at £5.99 each and I'd say they are worth every single penny, thumbs up to Rimmel for these new products for sure!

What do you all think of these products? Have you tried them?

January Favourites

Oh my god, where did the month of January disappear to?! It went so fast, I couldn't believe it when I was saying 'it's the 1st of February tomorrow'. Seems like this year will be going as quickly as 2012!

Even though I thought the month went extra quick I did manage to find some products and items that I LOVE.
(swatched Kate Moss shade 16)
  • Over the knuckle gold rings from River Island
  • Rimmel London lipstick - Kate Moss collection - shade 16
  • Ted Baker bag with gold bow
  • Revlon nail varnish - 185 Lilac Pastelle
I absolutely love the Revlon lilac shade that I decided to paint my nails and I wore it for the majority of January! I think the glitter nail varnish on the ring finger also adds something to the whole look which I also decided to keep - I used Models Own 'Juicy Jules' for the glitter effect.

The Kate Moss lipstick collection was a late(ish) buy for me in the month of January but I grew to like to so much that I had to include it in my favourites post. The smell of the lipstick is UH-MAZ-ING as it smells just like watermelon. I find it hard to find a lipstick that goes well on my lips and also compliments my hair colour and I believe this one is a winner! They are around £5.49 in Boots & Superdrug and quite often there's a 3 for 2 offer.

Ted Baker is a brand for me which is ridiculously overpriced yet I can't stay away from the store!! I do, however, enjoy one of the perks of being a student and that's the 15% student discount that they offer in there, which is always a bonus. I always wanted one of these bags but never wanted the plain bow ones so I searched high & low for the glitter bow and only find ONE left in my local store and I knew I had to have it. I bought this bag a while ago back in 2012 but after purchasing it I didn't get a lot of use out of it. However, this has totally changed this year and I have been constantly using it. LOVE LOVE LOVE. I don't know if you can still get them as I did have to search for mine but they still do similar styles & I'm sure they're around the £35 mark.

I've been seeing many posts about the over the knuckle rings and I must admit I was rather intrigued. Just by looking at them I made an assumption that they would either fall off my fingers or they would be extremely uncomfortable. I was wrong. Completely wrong. I've been wearing the ones I bought from River Island occasionally and when I do people always ask me where I got them from. I'm so glad I did decide to buy some to try out as I know I will be wearing these loads. They are £2 in River Island for both. Bargain.

Other favourites:
  • FILM: Disney movies (new found love for these movies, feel like a kid again!)
  • SONG: 'What About Us' - The Saturdays

Hope you all enjoyed my favourites from the month of January, leave a comment telling me your favourites of the month too as I'd love to read them!
