REVIEW: Revlon Just Bitten Kissable Balm Stain

Another product, another review. I have to admit when it comes to lipsticks/lipbalms etc, I think I speak for the majority of people when I say that I want them to LAST. I've bought many lip products in the past and been so disappointed with the length of time that they stay on my lips.
This product did not disappoint as it is a 'balm stain'. I'd see these on my different blogs and thought I'd give them a try. This product definitely stays on my lips a lot longer than many lipsticks I have tried and I'm very impressed. However, because it is a stain I have had the problem of trying on this colour with an outfit and realising that the colour doesn't go with my outfit and had to try and scrub it off - does get a bit painful after a while! Suppose it's my own fault really but I honestly didn't know how hard they would be to get off and believe me when I say these are hard to get off once you've applied them. The smell of this product is a downside for me, it has a strong minty smell, something that I find only acceptable in chewing gum! I absolutely hate the smell of mint on a lipstick or any other make-up related product. The colour does start wearing off and you do still need the occassional colour top up to maintain the brightness of the balm stain but overall I'm impressed.
I haven't tried any other colours from the range but I have a feeling I might have to have a cheeky purchase of a few.
What do you all think of these balm stains by Revlon? Are you a fan?

NOTD: Revlon White & 2True Glitter

(WHITE ON WHITE 050- REVLON & 2TRUE GLITTERATI NAIL POLISH, SHADE 4)

I had originally planned to paint my nails white and leave it as that, until I remembered that I had recently purchased a pink & purple glitter polish. I admit it doesn't look very neatly done on the pictures but in person the slight mistakes are hardly noticeable.
I absolutely LOVE this combination that I've painted together and I think the pink and purple glitter works really well with the white. I can't wait to try the glitter on top of other colours such as black.

The Revlon nail varnish was around the £5-£6 mark & the glitter one was no more than £3.

What do you all think of this nail varnish combination?

DUPE #1: MAC Pretty Please vs Revlon Sky Line Pink

I'm always on the look out for cheaper alternatives of any make-up brand that charges slightly higher prices than the rest, for example MAC.
I originally got the Revlon lipstick first as I'm really into the nude/pink colours. It wasn't until my mum bought me the MAC lipstick for my birthday that I realised just how similar these two shades were. Don't get me wrong they aren't an EXACT match but I think they are pretty close! The Revlon one does come out slightly darker than MAC as you can see by the swatches on my hand, however, when applied on the lips they do look extremely similar. I do understand that the picture of the swatches isn't the best but because they are really nude lipsticks it was hard to photograph - hopefully you can see it okay.

The top colour is the MAC lipstick & the bottom one is Revlon. They do appear to be completely different colours on my hand but I promise you they aren't as different as they appear in the picture! I have to say I'm not a huge fan of Revlon lipsticks as I don't think they are as moisturising to the lips as the MAC ones. Saying that, the Revlon lipsticks are around half the price of the MAC ones at around the £7 mark. Also, the MAC lipsticks have the most gorgeous smell to them (please don't tell me I'm weird & I'm the only one who's noticed this, PLEASE!?). I would recommend that if you're looking for a cheaper alternative for the Pretty Please lipstick by MAC, the Revlon one is definitely one to try out.

I hope this helped whoever is reading this!
Do you have any cheaper lipsticks that are dupes for MAC ones?

January Favourites

Oh my god, where did the month of January disappear to?! It went so fast, I couldn't believe it when I was saying 'it's the 1st of February tomorrow'. Seems like this year will be going as quickly as 2012!

Even though I thought the month went extra quick I did manage to find some products and items that I LOVE.
(swatched Kate Moss shade 16)
  • Over the knuckle gold rings from River Island
  • Rimmel London lipstick - Kate Moss collection - shade 16
  • Ted Baker bag with gold bow
  • Revlon nail varnish - 185 Lilac Pastelle
I absolutely love the Revlon lilac shade that I decided to paint my nails and I wore it for the majority of January! I think the glitter nail varnish on the ring finger also adds something to the whole look which I also decided to keep - I used Models Own 'Juicy Jules' for the glitter effect.

The Kate Moss lipstick collection was a late(ish) buy for me in the month of January but I grew to like to so much that I had to include it in my favourites post. The smell of the lipstick is UH-MAZ-ING as it smells just like watermelon. I find it hard to find a lipstick that goes well on my lips and also compliments my hair colour and I believe this one is a winner! They are around £5.49 in Boots & Superdrug and quite often there's a 3 for 2 offer.

Ted Baker is a brand for me which is ridiculously overpriced yet I can't stay away from the store!! I do, however, enjoy one of the perks of being a student and that's the 15% student discount that they offer in there, which is always a bonus. I always wanted one of these bags but never wanted the plain bow ones so I searched high & low for the glitter bow and only find ONE left in my local store and I knew I had to have it. I bought this bag a while ago back in 2012 but after purchasing it I didn't get a lot of use out of it. However, this has totally changed this year and I have been constantly using it. LOVE LOVE LOVE. I don't know if you can still get them as I did have to search for mine but they still do similar styles & I'm sure they're around the £35 mark.

I've been seeing many posts about the over the knuckle rings and I must admit I was rather intrigued. Just by looking at them I made an assumption that they would either fall off my fingers or they would be extremely uncomfortable. I was wrong. Completely wrong. I've been wearing the ones I bought from River Island occasionally and when I do people always ask me where I got them from. I'm so glad I did decide to buy some to try out as I know I will be wearing these loads. They are £2 in River Island for both. Bargain.

Other favourites:
  • FILM: Disney movies (new found love for these movies, feel like a kid again!)
  • SONG: 'What About Us' - The Saturdays

Hope you all enjoyed my favourites from the month of January, leave a comment telling me your favourites of the month too as I'd love to read them!
